ByMarley is a Sydney-based photography and videography studio creating considered visuals for brands, spaces and events. We focus on work that feels natural, cinematic and emotionally grounded - shaped by light, movement and intention rather than excess.

The studio is run by Charley and Mat, working together as a small, hands-on team. This means the people you speak to are the same people planning, shooting and editing your work - allowing for a seamless, thoughtful process from start to finish.

About ByMarley

Our approach

We believe good visuals don’t come from rushing or overproducing. They come from taking the time to understand the vision, working carefully with light and movement, and choosing what actually matters.

Our approach is collaborative and considered. On set, we aim to strike a balance between creating a calm, organised environment, and bringing energy and passion into the set when needed. We believe it is important for ideas to evolve naturally. We’ll give clear direction when it’s helpful, step back when it’s not, and bring our own perspective to elevate the final result.

The work we’re drawn to is the kind that transports you back into a moment - photo series and videos that feels seamless, honest and lasting.

Our team

Mat Cabrera

Photographer, Videographer, Drone Pilot

Mat is a passionate creative with a strong instinct for finding perspective and meaning within a scene. He’s drawn to moments that feel genuine and unforced - whether that’s a striking aerial view or a fleeting interaction on the street.

His work is guided by curiosity and creative freedom, always looking for new ways to frame a moment and push beyond the obvious, while keeping the final imagery natural, cohesive and story-driven.

Charley brings a thoughtful, detail-driven approach to both photography and video. She’s drawn to light, composition and the emotional weight of a moment - often focusing on the quieter details that help an image feel immersive and honest.

She works closely with clients to shape the vision, guide the process, and ensure the final work feels considered, cohesive and true to what was intended.
